I recently joined Tubi TV as their first CTO. I had a chance to meet and spend quality time with the team, include a couple of white-boarding sessions and I must say, I was genuinely impressed. There’s a genuine desire for engineering excellence while remaining grounded and pragmatic. From a business model perspective, I really liked that Tubi TV is already making money and the founders are constantly thinking about unit economics, a sharp contrast from many startups I talked to that are raising massive rounds without a clear plan on how to monetize down the line.
